The signs of early summer are here - young barn swallows are learning about life at the dock, slow but graceful manatees have been sited cruising our shoreline, and brilliant pink roseate spoonbills are feeding in the shallows.
As the new season brings changes in the Cabin Bluff wildlife, the fishing staff has been working to fine-tune a new fleet of boats for an exciting summer of fishing. The boat upgrades allow guides to cover all areas of the fisheries - chasing reds in the shallow water, fishing the beach of Cumberland Island, or heading offshore to do battle the numerous species located there.
You will find that the new fleet is outfitted with state of the art equipment, i-Pilot trolling motors (which we have discovered will enhance the ability to put our guest in the “zone”), Power-Poles for instant anchoring in shallow water, and Garmin electronics to assist in locating the sweet spot.
The fishing report for early summer includes load of trout, redfish, and sheepshead in the inshore scene and schools of redfish for the skinny water angler. Offshore you will find dolphin, grouper, sea bass, and vermillion snapper, just to name a few.
Visit Cabin Bluff and let the guides bait your hook, put you in the fish zone, care for your catch, and have our chefs prepare for dinner that very night!
