Fishin' rod, water and the dog days of Summer

We have been experiencing the dog days of summer, but along with the weather the fishing has been hot also! We have made several trips to the offshore scene to bottom fish. We had great catches of vermillion snapper, triggerfish, and sea bass. Had a surprise bull dolphin (the fish) that put on quite a show, one trip. On the inshore scene, fishing on the beach side of Cumberland Island provides breathtaking natural beauty and the fishing has been excellent for trout, whiting, sharks, and a wide assortment of inshore species. Some days have been nonstop action. In the rivers the trout fishing has picked up with large amounts of live bait available, it has put the fish in the “eating mode”. The bull reds are starting to turn on at the jetties and will just continue to get better. Looking forward to the transition into the fall fishing!
