Cabin Bluff – Grandpa’s Secret Fishin’ Hole

It’s no secret families visiting Cabin Bluff have found what so many seek in their summer vacation, quality time.  Our natural habitat, seclusion and numerous amenities make Cabin Bluff the perfect place to let kids be kids.

One of the best uses of that time (and best kept secrets at Cabin Bluff) is pond fishing on our Davis Love III designed golf course. Toby, the Cabin Bluff fishing guru, keeps these ponds stocked with a variety of species including largemouth bass, hybrid bream, channel catfish and hybrid catfish. Children get to “catch” rather than “fish”, which keeps them engaged and they learn how to properly handle a fish when caught. Beginning fly casters have the perfect venue to refine their casting technique on the golf course fairway, then turn 180 degrees and cast into plentiful ponds to practice things like stripping, overhead and side arm casting.

Timing is up to you. No worry about tide or water conditions, just grab your family, a golf cart and a few fishing rods and you are set. Early morning, mid afternoon or before dinner, the fish are always biting! Happy Fishing…
